SUNNYSIDE TOWN

In a place backed by ranching and agriculture, My mom says that a small piece of history is under restoration in the town of Clyde Park.

“Clyde Park was named for a horse.  Madame Bulldog left the Sunnyside post office. On May 11, 1887, John Harvey accepted the job. Because he and his brother-in-law Tom Tregloan had just imported a registered Clydesdale stallion, the post office on their ranch became ‘Clyde Park’. “*

I asked Mom if there were dogs around back then, and she said that it was a town of hustle and bustle, of livery stables and horses, of railroads and stage stops, of saloons and pool halls, banks, drugstores, cafes, motels, hardware stores, barbers, blacksmiths, butchers and builders.  It was a town of activity and prosperity.  Dogs?  Well, who knows.
